America’s Most Wanted Bird explores the unique relationship between the rural Southern Illinois town of Griggsville and a type of swallow called a Purple Martin. Previously the centre of a multi-million dollar birdhouse company, today this once-buoyant bird town is fading. The film follows the lives of the self-titled ‘Bird City Boys’ Brian and Ben - and nine year old Charlene - some of the last few in the town trying to keep the Purple Martin legacy alive.
